Field notes
Builders risk applications ask for the same things nearly every time. Have these handy and the quote moves quickly.
A licensed agent contacts you within 1 business day of your request, by call, text or email, the way you choose.
We serve all of Georgia, with most projects in Fulton, Cobb, Gwinnett, DeKalb, Cherokee, Forsyth, Henry, Paulding, Douglas and surrounding counties.
Tool
Every builders risk application asks for the completed value. Add up your numbers here, then send the total to your application.
Example numbers shown. This is a planning estimate only. The carrier's application sets what's included in completed value, and we confirm it with you before quoting.
Completed value is the main number a builders risk carrier rates on. Premium also depends on construction type, location and fire protection, project length, deductible and the carrier's minimum premium.
We don't publish price ranges because two similar projects can price very differently. The fastest way to a real number is a complete application.
Educational information for Georgia projects. Not a quote and not a statement of coverage.
Bidding the job?
Commercial and public projects often need a bid bond before the award and performance and payment bonds before work starts. Many contract bonds can be applied for online and issued once approved. Larger bonds take a fuller underwriting review.
Bonds are subject to surety underwriting and approval, which usually includes a credit review. A bond is not insurance for the contractor.
Before you buy
The most common question we get. The answer is in your paperwork, not in a rule of thumb.
Construction contracts usually say who buys builders risk and who must be named on it. Many residential contracts put it on the builder; many commercial contracts put it on the owner. Read yours, or send it to us and we'll quote to what it asks for.
Construction lenders often list insurance requirements in the commitment letter, including how they want to be shown on the policy. Send us that page. Getting it right the first time keeps your closing on schedule.
Who you'll talk to
Frank was born into construction and is well rounded and knowledgeable across the trades, residential and commercial. After studying construction management, he earned an accounting degree and then studied corporate finance while working in insurance and risk management. Quinn Alliance focuses on the construction trades and reads a project the way a builder does, so your application moves forward from the first call, backed by prompt, reliable service.
Questions
It depends on the construction contract and the lender. Either party can be the named insured. Tell us who your contract or loan requires, and we quote to that requirement.
It is usually required by a construction lender or a construction contract, not by the building permit office. Check your loan commitment letter and the insurance section of your contract.
